Yay! It’s been a while since I posted here for make it monday. The crafting vibe was just not doing it for me lately. I am back today with some help from Jaia! It was a sleep over weekend, which of course means a Harry Potter mini marathon. Jaia and her friend watched the first 3 movies last night – I believe they went to sleep some time after 2:00 AM! Wowza! I must have been exhausted though – they slept in the living room of our fairly small house and I didn’t hear them one bit.
In honor of Harry – we made our own magic wands!
You’ll need some basic things – sculpey brand clay and some wooden chopsticks.
These are fun and easy to make. First you take a good lump size of the dough (about 1/2 the package), warm it up in your hands until pliable and make a thick snake just slightly longer than the length of your chopstick.
Roll it flat –
Place the chopstick on the flattened snake and wrap the sculpey around the chopstick until the stick is completely covered –
Make it tight around the stick – we don’t want the stick wobbly inside the baked sculpey clay!
Now – Embellish!
The spot at the bottom of the pink is for a “diamond” gem to be glued in.
Bake in the oven according to the sculpey manufactures directions –
Your very own magical wand!
