Ornament decorating

Late November, Rowan came to me with this long list of christmas ornaments and decorations she’d like to make. I will admit that I took one look at that list and silently cursed in my mind. That list was LONG.  Well we’ve finally gotten around to ONE of those ideas – decorating glass ornaments.

We hit our local big box store to search for glass ornaments to decorate but could only finds small ones – So we made do.

Sunday we dug out our craft supplies, paint, glue, buttons, books – you name it.

Jaia and Rowan simply wanted to paint theirs –

I was a little more creative 🙂  When Jaia and I were at the Harry Potter night – one of the vendors had glass ornaments in which she’d cut up strips of a HP book – I personally thought – what a great idea! and I tried to recreate it 🙂 I couldn’t find our beat up version of HP so I settled for another book instead –

I ripped out 2 pages and one page I tore into small pieces and another I cut into thin strips –

The thin strips I slipped into the ornament –

The torn page I modpodged onto the ornament  –

But my favorite ornament is the ornament I decorated with buttons!

I used E6000 glue  –

And covered the glass ornament –

I’m thinking salt dough ornaments might be next on the list!

Hope everyone is healthy – we are all just recovering from a nasty, fast hitting cold! But I did get to use my Elderflower tincture –

Bright Blessings!
