Fixing my corner

A year or so ago I bought a desk. I was to be my desk where I could sit and work and blog and whatnot. I put it together – stuck it in the corner – and there it stayed. Things got set upon it – miscellaneous items that didn’t need to be there – I preferred to work and surf at the kitchen table or on the sofa. This weekend I decided I needed to reclaim that space and actually USE it.

I bought some things for organizing and a nice framed piece of wall art – and then the first thin I did was to get rid of all that didn’t belong on my desk. The scarf, hair gel, water bottle – you know – the junk:)

I hung my new picture on the wall, and the wire sorting rack; I threw away trash and organized important papers –

AS you can see – It’s not perfect by any means. I have a “thing” for bags which are stacked next to my desk and that pile of file folders has got to go.

BUT – I can sit there! And for that I am happy – The chair belonged to my grandmother – I am not sure how old it is, but I own 2.

The framed picture on the wall (you can only see the bottom) says “Be the type of person you want to meet” – A goal I’m striving for as I work on personal growth. The wire organizer holds bills “to pay” and “to file”.  The calendar is steampunked from Jaia.

Over all I’m pleased – So glad to have my own space in this crazy house of ours. Next will be to finish my husbands office so I can claim my sewing area back once again! (they now share a basement area – no sewing for me anytime he’s working!).

Bright Blessings!
