Teacher Recycle Center

Every couple of weeks – Jaia and I hit the teacher recycling center for supplies for my recycled art class.  It’s an awesome place – business and individuals donate left overs from their place of employment or homes. Bottle caps, buttons, fake flowers, books, games and game pieces, crayons, paper, binders. Science equipment, upholstery samples – you name it – you may find it there  – It’s like a crafters toy store!

I went for two things and walked out with many more items that what was necessary –

Pick a bag and fill it up! They charge by the pound –

Last visit I walked out with this fabulous microscope –

and a few of these old, old, chemical jars. Not quite sure what I’m going to do with them – but hey – they were COOL!

This Wednesday I found this bowl –

I’m not sure of it’s original purpose but I found to  work perfectly to hold my mirepoix while I prepped soup for dinner –

I’ve found scissors, knitting needles, crochet hooks, yarn, buttons, zippers – It’s such and adventure for me!

Do you have a similar store anywhere in your area?

Bright Blessings!
