Yesterday was Halloween – I have to say it may be my most favorite “holiday” of the year. And not just because of the trick or treating – but I can feel change in the air. It’s almost magical – The atmosphere feels thin to me.
Maybe it’s because they say the veil between the “worlds” is the thinest at this time of year; maybe it’s because they say Halloween is a day to honor ones ancestors who’ve passed. – Or it could be simply that I love halloween.
Wikipedia states that Samhain (pronounced /ˈsɑːwɪn/ sah-win or /ˈsaʊ.ɪn/ sow-in, Irish pronunciation: [sˠaunʲ]) is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the “darker half” of the year.
A season of Change.
I found it fitting that I’d chosen November 1st (weeks ago) to make personal changes, to improve our eating habits, to cut out the crap, the sugar, the carbs, once again. To begin a home yoga routine, to begin to meditate once again. To grow. To change. To become comfortable with myself. To BE healthier inside and out. I’d made this decision without connecting the decision for change with the TIME of year I was making that decision.
I hope I can carry it through.
Bright Blessings –
