Ice Storm

Friday morning we hunkered down for a “huge” ice storm that was sweeping our area. The fabric shop closed, dance was canceled, schools were closed (not homeschool, we reserve OUR days off for 70* weather!)  and  we made sure we had snacks and yummies for the weekend and toilet paper – always toilet paper.

Friday it rained and iced, misted and iced, and it was a wet, wet dreary day.

I sewed and baked a little,  and we took it lazy – I introduced the girls to “A Knights’ Tale” –  Rowan left the room – Jaia watched until the end. One of my favorite movies!

Sewing, sewing, sewing-

City gym shorts for Jaia from the free Purl Soho pattern – and the Noodle-head Poolside tote for our upcoming trip to cancun.

A thin layer of ice formed over everything – but it turned out to not be the huge disaster everyone was predicting. The roads had been well taken care of and drivers took more care on the roads – or simply staying home where they were safe.

Saturday morning  we woke to normalcy – there was ice coating everything, but the world was back to normal.

Yesterday, I took the girls back to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them for the second time – I’ve NEVER done that before – but the movie is so good! That I had to see it one more time on the big screen before it leaves! (next is Rouge One!)

We met this scary guy in the lobby –

Jaia looks thrilled – doesn’t she?  I’m assuming there’s another TMNT movie coming out? (We’ll wait until that one is on netflix to watch) –

I hope everyone stayed safe over the weekend ! It’s still dreary and wet here, but it’s a NEW WEEK – (and it’s supposed to be close to 60*!)

Bright Blessings –
