Rain and solitude

In a few minutes I have to get up and start my day.  Showering, eating and out the door to work. But for the next 5 minutes, the next 10 minutes I am enjoying the solitude of my living room.

It’s dark and some would say gloomy in my house this morning. BUT there’s a lovely rain happening outside  and my youngest has opened all the windows so we can enjoy the gentle sound of the rain drops.

This is my absolute favorite.

I want to sit and savor this moment for as long as I can…

Yesterday the girls and I had a “girls afternoon”. Something we don’t do together very often.. We went and wandered around a local shopping area, had lunch, and had a pleasant afternoon before dropping Rowan off at work –

Pastries, a new cute hat, and awesome tacos for lunch –

I need to remember, especially as they get older, nearing “moving out” age – that I desperately need to take days like this to enjoy them as the wonderful young ladies they are growing up to be.

I don’t know what’s in Jaia’s future yet – she’s only 14, but Rowan –  Rowan wishes to move out of the country –  Great Britain or Sweden – And I’m not discouraging her – I won’t.

People are wandering now – rummaging through the fridge –  dogs are pleading for attention. I’m off to shower and start my day –

Bright Blessings –
