I’ve been doing a lot of sewing lately – mainly sewing for others – putting together t-shirt quilts, but ALSO – I’ve been making time to sew for myself and Jaia –
Harry Potter robes for American Girl dolls – because why not torture myself with tiny tiny armscye??? OIY –
Also on the sewing table – dreams to make myself a top – but first – working on my quilt block for my very first Mystery Quilt!
Fabric choices – I decide to go through my stash and use up some of these awesome fabric bundles I got way back when we went to Quilt Market here in St. Louis – Since it’s my first quilt and mostly for practice – I’m vowing only to buy the minimum amount possible 🙂 The background will be all white and I’ll wait to see how it turns out before I buy backing and binding –
First block tried once (in teal), tried a second time (in pink) because I wasn’t happy with the first try then taken apart (the teal one), trimmed and finished mostly properly – I didn’t take the center pieces apart and that wonky right side is gonna annoy me FOREVER but it looks SO MUCH BETTER!
Looking forward to block number 2 in February!!
We’ve had such gorgeous weather here the past few days – Today it’s cold again and I’m so disappointed! Stay warm all! It will be spring before we know it!
